SELFIE, for the digital development of schools
SELFIE is a platform which is dedicated to measure the current digital development of different institutions by answering simple questions. As the name “SELFIE” (=Self-reflection on Effective Learning by Fostering the use of Innovative Educational Technologies: https://ec.europa.eu/education/schools-go-digital_en) indicates, the platform is able to give a reflection on the current status of organizations in the world of technological innovation, and gives them further guidelines based on the results.
With only a free registration, SELFIE becomes available to all members of schools, including students, teachers and other colleagues.
By answering the given questions, SELFIE assesses the undermentioned areas:

After answering the questions with the help of a 1-5 scale, the platform automatically calculates the results and displays the scores on infographics. Afterwards, the school receives an action plan that includes its own areas of development and priorities.
The advantage of SELFIE is that it is free of any charges and by registering for the platform, institutions are given the possibility to assess and identify their areas of development and then to modernize, improve these areas by getting specific advices. The action plan provides support on what kind of resources are needed for progression. For example, in case of lacking financial resources, the plan advocates EU programmes and projects that could resolve that issue. This is very advantageous as the institutions are given a reference base and the motivation to apply for different financial resources.
Filling out and evaluating SELFIE can be repeated any time, and in case it is needed, it could be supplemented with other questions as well.
