Thanks to our winner ADU project, two of our colleagues recently traveled to Ireland for a 7-day job shadowing activity at Future Learning Language School, where they explored innovative approaches to education, organization, and thematic learning. The company’s headquarters are located in Dublin, a vibrant city where hundreds of learners—both adults and young students—come to improve their English skills.


What makes Future Learning stand out is its revolutionary approach to language education. Unlike traditional schools, Future Learning does not rely on textbooks. Instead, their methods are rooted in communication and teamwork, which foster collaboration and engagement among students. This unique approach provides effective and fascinating solutions, viewing education from a different perspective.

In addition to the main center in Dublin, Future Learning operates another language school in Athlone, a charming town situated between Dublin and Galway, accessible within an hour by train. Known for its rich history, Athlone boasts attractions such as Athlone Castle, St. Peter and Paul’s Church, and the Shannon Riverfront.

Our colleagues not only delved into the school’s cutting-edge educational practices but also had the opportunity to explore both cities. In Dublin, they visited renowned landmarks such as Trinity College and the Book of Kells, Dublin Castle, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Guinness Storehouse, the EPIC Museum and the Ha’penny Bridge. In Athlone, highlights included Athlone Castle, Sean’s Bar (the oldest pub in Ireland), Lough Ree, Clonmacnoise Monastery, and the scenic Shannon River.

Future Learning’s ethos revolves around enhancing language skills while fostering collaboration, project management, and critical thinking. As pioneers of project-based, technology-enhanced language learning, they aim to redefine educational programs, making them more interactive and relevant to today’s world.

The experience inspired our colleagues, offering valuable insights into modern educational practices that focus on social, collaborative, and autonomous learning while utilizing technology to engage students meaningfully. This visit has undoubtedly enriched their perspectives on innovative education, and we look forward to seeing how these ideas might be implemented in our own practices!
