Hungarian schools and vocational education centers won Erasmus accreditation for the period of 2021-2027
Based on the professional evaluation of the requested independent experts, the board of trustees of the Tempus Public Foundation announced the results of the previously – by 29th of October 2020 – submitted applications for Erasmus accreditation in school education and vocational training sector on the18th of February 2021.
„The Erasmus accreditation in the fields of school education, vocational training, adult learning and youth will promote strategic approach and long-term planning. The new category is for those institutions who regularly implement mobility projects, and the accreditation provide an opportunity for them to apply in a simplified way for these activities” as it can be read on the webpage of Tempus Public Foundation.
The number of accreditations that could have been awarded in 2021 in the field of school education was 40, of which 36 were received by secondary schools, vocational education centers and primary schools. In order to become an accredited organization, it was mandatory to obtain a minimum of 70 points in the 100-point rating system.
In the field of vocational training the allocation was slightly more difficult since it was already possible to obtain a so-called vocational training certificate in this area, of which 25 Hungarian institutions were in the possession by 2020. For these institutions the accreditation application was also facilitated resulting these to be listed in the top 25 of the accredited applicants. In accordance with aforementioned, out of the 50 places 25 remained for those schools, vocational education centers and companies that were willing to undertake high-quality mobility activities.

The applicants also had the possibility to obtain an independent Erasmus accreditation either for their own organization or as mobility consortium leaders, who were able to obtain an Erasmus accreditation for their own consortiums. A previous experience under the Erasmus+ (2014-2020) program was not a condition of the application.
In the new program phase the applicants for vocational training have several possibilities for applying. Those institutions who did not accomplish an accreditation will be able to apply for the implementation of mobility projects in the Short-term application category during the spring of 2021. Nevertheless, these organizations will probably have the opportunity to submit an application for accreditation again during the autumn of 2021.
