German Students in Budapest: Creative Learning, Warm Encounters and a Future Lángos Stand
Students from Herder Gymnasium spent four inspiring days in Budapest between 23–26 March 2026 as part of their Erasmus+ mobility. Organised by Gordius Learning, the programme blended creativity, hands‑on activities and classroom experiences, offering a rich and authentic insight into Hungarian school life.
The visit focused on EU citizenship, the comparison of the German and Hungarian electoral systems, and active citizenship. Hungarian students from the host school Europa2000 and German students worked together on these topics during lessons, exploring what it means to be engaged and responsible European citizens.
The group consisted of exceptionally kind, curious and open‑minded students who participated enthusiastically in every activity. The host school’s students were equally welcoming and genuinely interested, creating a friendly and natural atmosphere throughout the week.

A delightful outcome: a lángos stand back home
The Hungarian experience made such a strong impression on the students that they decided to create a lángos stand at an upcoming school event — bringing a piece of Hungarian culture back to their community.

Gordius Learning would like to thank the students for their enthusiasm and openness, and the host school for their warm welcome and supportive collaboration.
