The theme of this year's European Vocational Skills Week is "Skills for the Green Transition", which is closely linked to the European Green Deal. European Vocational Skills Week is about equipping young people, who would like to prioritize green solutions in their economic participation and find jobs in sustainable companies, with these necessary skills and professional knowledge. Sustainability and the use of green solutions in vocational education and training are one of the pillars and priorities of the 2021-2027 Erasmus+ funding period.
‘To succeed in making Europe greener and climate neutral, people require the right skills. Vocational Education and Training can be the solution people are looking for. It is suitable for learners of all ages.’ (Nicolas Schmit, European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights)
