The course will provide participants with an overview on how the EU works in general and its main policy activities, with a focus on the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme. The theoretical knowledge will be complemented by practical activities to help you learn and master the topics. The training will not only provide the participants who visit us with knowledge and skills, but also with solutions and tools that they can use to easily transfer and disseminate the gained knowledge on the topic in their institution.

Digital device (smart phone or laptop) is needed, one course day will be held off-site.

Learning objectives

- Give participants a better understanding of the C5 general and policy activities.
- Gain a better understanding of Erasmus+ principles and how the programme works.
- Learn how to easily transfer the knowledge acquired to students through practical activities.
- Learn about the digital platforms created and supported by the EU and their purpose.
- Developing an institution-specific strategy to promote EU values, opportunities and active citizenship.

Activities

Day 1: general knowledge of the EU, fundamental EU activities, Erasmus+ principles, learning about educational programmes
Day 2: Green day, environmental protection, climate, transport, energy, food management – focus: European Green Deal (travel management, green travel)
Day 3: education, youth, inclusion, culture: Learn about the EU Publications Office, visiting the Europe Point office
Day 4: economy, employment, digitalisation, international relations and security – working in the EU, mobility programmes, EURES, other programmes to support mobility  
Day 5: social equality, rights, participation in democratic processes – importance of elections and voting, rights in the EU, presentation of EU institutions that can be visited, developing a strategy for your own institution
